The Parasol at Drupa 2024
As a user of Kongsberg Machines ourselves we always appreciate the opportunity to work with Kongsberg. And we had another chance at Drupa 2024 in Düsseldorf, Germany with this 12 x 7 m/37 x 22ft cardboard structure.
Following up on the FESPA 2023 Project with said company, we this time changed the direction and built a canopy piece as a free floating installation. Internally called the “Parasol”, this design drew inspiration from a fairy tale forrest or oversized mushroom structure, creating a space between the tree trunks with changing perspectives depending on the visitors location. Another important part was the view from the top, since customers of Kongsberg were able to view it from the second floor.
Even though this design is reasonably large, it was cut entirely in only 12 hours as a testimony to the efficiency of Kongsberg Cutting Tables.
This project came to life in cooperation with Team Hoynck from the Netherlands.
