The Infinite Room at FESPA 2023
For FESPA 2023 in Munich, Germany, we created this “Infinite Room” for Kongsberg in cooperation with Team Honyck. The ides behind the design was the creation of a curved room as a lounge area, creating the impression of an endlessly long room.
To achieve a more homogeneous look, we created radial slices and a horizontal interlocking system, which required a specific building procedure. Furthermore, closing off the ceiling (a natural consequence when using horizontal slices) was not an option due to lighting issues. Therefore we also had to create a completely new locking system for the ceiling arches; the “keys”, which turned out to work exceptional well on site.
The build was finished in only 3 days with 5 people working on it and it created exactly the infinite room impression we were aiming for.
